You wouldn’t know it by the average voter turnout during an election year, but Americans love to vote and to pick their favorite thing. Especially when it comes to a simple thing that’s pitted up against another simple thing. And what better way to get people to chime in on your Facebook status than to post a battle for something. Two things enter, one thing leaves. Whether it’s a battle between sodas or cars or Michael Bay movies, people will come out of the woodwork and announce their favorite. It’s like the new infrequent Pepsi Challenge. So many people, especially those in the real estate industry prepping for an economic rebound, are scurrying to make sense of the social media landscape and how best to present themselves online. It’s not enough that you have a Facebook page anymore; it’s what you do with it over the course of years and knowing what will interest the people in your network. Announcing property listings and breaking financial news is fine and dandy for a while, but if that’s all you got, it quickly becomes noisy static. So when you’re looking to change-up your daily video tours, post a poll and see what happens.
