Cirque du Space

Leo-blog--Canadian-space--001How great is this? The founder of Cirque du Soleil, Guy Laliberte, is in space via a trip he commissioned through Space Adventures, a private company that sends the chosen few into space via the Russian Space Agency (RSA). Now I don’t know about you, but if I had about 20 million bucks (after of course knowing I’d be able to take care of the college educations of about 100 potential grandkids), I’d hit-up a trip to space. Aside from the fact that you can now spend millions on a trip to space, Space Adventures has this fantastic online sales piece touting the benefits of going to space. Reminds me of a commercial in Total Recall to go to Mars, or Vanilla Sky‘s LifeExtension industrial promos. And if Richard Branson has his way, we’ll be able to pay about $200,000 to take a short suborbital space flight with about a dozen of our astronaut friends. And you thought we were in a recession…
